Rheonics process control equipment is UL certified for installation in both ordinary (non-hazardous) and hazardous locations across the United States and Canada. Certifications comply with applicable UL and CSA safety standards, including UL 61010-1 and CSA C22.2 No. 61010-1 for ordinary locations, and Class I, II, and III hazardous location requirements for certified installations.

KCs certification is a mandatory product approval for explosion-proof electrical components in Korea. KCs Ex certification is implemented by the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (KOSHA) based on the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

In Korea, equipment or machinery used in areas characterized by explosion hazard may only be put into operation with valid KCs Ex certifications for its electrical components. KOSHA regulations also cover the safety approval of entire machines in addition to KCs Ex certification of electrical components. Valid KCs Ex registrations of the assembled Ex certified electrical components are a crucial part to obtain the KCs certification for a fully assembled machine.

The Korean (KCs) certification ensures that Rheonics sensors comply with specific safety standards and regulations set forth by Korean authorities to mitigate the risk of explosions in environments where flammable gases, vapors, or dust are present. Rheonics inline process viscometer and density meter probe are intrinsically safe and are certified according to IECEx certificate (IECEx TUR 19.0005X issue No.5) and KTL (Korea testing Laboratory) certificates. The probes are suitable for installation in hazardous areas zone 0/1/2.

The 3-A Sanitary Standards, Inc. (3-A SSI) is an North America based organization that sets standards and criteria for the design and manufacturing of equipment used in the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries.

The objective of this organization is to protect products from contamination and ensure all equipment’s surfaces in contact with the product can be mechanically cleaned and easily dismantled so it favors manual cleaning and inspection.

The standards cover various aspects such as materials used, design principles, cleanability, and maintenance practices. The Rheonics type-SR sensors bearing the 3-A symbol indicate compliance with these standards, assuring consumers, regulatory agencies, and industry stakeholders that the sensor probe meets high levels of hygiene and sanitation. Rheonics CE Declaration of Conformity, as per standards EN 61326-1:2013, EN 61326-2-3:2013, and EN 50581:2012, signifies compliance with European Union regulations regarding electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and the restriction of hazardous substances (RoHS) for electrical equipment.

EN 61326-1:2013 pertains to EMC requirements for electrical equipment for measurement, control, and laboratory use, while EN 61326-2-3:2013 focuses on particular requirements for EMC for equipment used in laboratory and industrial processes. Additionally, EN 50581:2012 specifies requirements for substance restrictions in electrical and electronic equipment.
