Precise control of ceramic slurry viscosity and density is essential to maintain consistent shell quality in investment casting. Traditional methods, such as efflux cups and lab density meters, require constant operator attention and manual intervention.
Rheonics and Nalco Water (an Ecolab company) present a fully automated approach using the SlurrySense with CleanWave™ self-cleaning sensor and 3D TRASAR™ system. This solution provides real-time slurry viscosity and density data, enabling operators to validate manual readings, avoid unnecessary dilution, and reduce labor.

This implementation has significantly improved slurry consistency, reduced operator workload, and enhanced shell quality, highlighting the power of real-time measurements and automation in investment casting.
