STCM
Type-SR Thermal Control Module
- Static fluid measurement setup for Type-SR Sensor probes (SRV and SRD)
- Uniform and controlled temperature around the Type-SR sensor probes
- Compatible with SME-BOX (E4), Laptop, or PC
STCM Overview
STCM was designed after extensive simulation and testing to ensure uniform temperature distribution across the Type-SR sensor probes (SRV and SRD); thanks to it, the STCM is used to heat a fluid sample at different controlled temperature points or a temperature ramp and take accurate, repeatable, and reliable viscosity and density measurements.
The STCM is compatible with different sample fluid cylinders, all made of brass to ensure good temperature uniformity, which is critical for accurate viscosity and density measurements. These sample fluid cylinders allow the STCM to work with most sensor probe variants (refer to each manual for details). Every sample fluid cylinder carries a unique serial number, and there are three types, each identified by a product key embedded in that serial number.
STCM Variants

STCM-PL
Type-SR sensor probes Thermal Control Module - Solid State TCM Version
STCM-PL is an all-in-one version designed to control the temperature without an external heat source within a limited temperature range (10°C below ambient to 150°C). Its small size (smaller than a Neo Espresso machine) makes it perfect to be used in small setups.

STCM-BB
Type-SR sensor probes Thermal Control Module - Bath Based
STCM-BB ensures thermal uniformity around Type-SR sensor probes using an external bath temperature source. It’s mostly used when a wide temperature range, which can’t be met by the STCM-PL, is required.

STCM Software
All the STCM variants include a specific software designed by Rheonics to control the temperature profiles, ramps, or points where the customer wants to take the measurements. Additionally, this software records all data obtained by the Type-SR sensors and displays it in a clear view for easy understanding or for processing by the operators.

STCM Compatible Products

SME-BOX (E4)
The SME-BOX is our electronics designed for lab environments.

STCM-IFP
Integrate the device directly in a bypass line for static viscosity analysis. A dedicated valve controls the intake of new fluid samples, while an integrated solid-state module provides active heating and cooling for precise fluid temperature control.

Calibrator
Use the Rheonics Calibrator along with the Rheonics Calibrator Software to certify your SRV and SRD sensor calibration.

DTCM
Take a sample from the process and measure the viscosity and/or density of the fluid. Control the fluid’s temperature and maintain it thermally uniform around the sensor’s sensing element with the built-in heating and cooling module or through an external bath source.
