Flow elbow tee for TriClamp Type-SR sensors - FET-XXT
Description
Rheonics FET accessories are a line of elbow or tee cells with a shortened port for a Tri-Clamp installation of the Type-SR sensors (SRV and SRD). The Rheonics FET elbow tee is offered in different sizes, like 1.5”, 2”, 3”, 4”, and others. Rheonics delivers the FET accessory with a Clamp and Clamp Seal for the sensor probe.
The FET accessory code is completed with the size of the tee and the connection ports (Tri-Clamp or welding ports). For example:
- The FET-20T-20T refers to a 2” FET elbow tee with 2” Tri-Clamp ports
- The FET-20T-XXX refers to a 2” FET elbow tee with welding ports.
The FET design allows the sensor probe to be installed easily in different lines with the sensor correctly submerged and parallel to the fluid, which is ideal for the Type-SR sensors. It can also be used with expanders and reducers to connect to lines of other sizes.

*The “XX” letters refer to the size of the Tri-Clamp and Ports e.g., “20” refers to a 2” size as explained in the section before.
Why use this part?
- A great solution for installation in 1.5” or 2” pipes where usually the sensor can’t be installed vertically or perpendicular to the flow.
- Protrudes the sensor sensing element as much as possible into the flow and avoids stagnation zones around the sensing element.
- Creates an ideal installation of the Type-SR sensor probes across the flow in small and big pipes.
- Easy integration into the process with Tri-Clamp connections.
- An advantage over standard T-piece due to a shorter port/ferrule for the sensor.
Installation instructions
- Ensure the correct material, size, and placement of the seal gasket between the ferrules.
- Be careful not to over-tighten the clamp.
- Preferred orientation is with the fluid flowing against the sensing element axially.
- Orientation of the flow cell (FET accessory) depends on the installation characteristics and the fluid:
- Having the outlet upwards and higher than the inlet ensures the cell is full and the probe is in contact with the fluid but may have a risk of sedimentation or deposits.
- Having the outlet downwards and lower than the inlet will avoid possible deposits near the probe but there is a risk of an unfilled cell.
- Check the compatibility of the fluid in the line with the elastomer materials of the seal. Rheonics offers the seal with an FKM material. If a customer needs a different elastomer material they should source it locally.
- Check the pressure rating of the application can be sustained by the clamp. Rheonics offers a standard Stainless Steel clamp. If a customer needs a different material or type of clamp for high-pressure applications they should source it locally.
